South Carolina Montessori Alliance presents Back to Nature
October 25-26, 2013, Columbia, SC
Keynote Speakers: Sandy Bisdee, Collette Segella
Ms. Bisdee and Ms. Segella work at the Center for Education, Imagination, and the Natural World in North Carolina. Ms. Bisdee, an AMI Early Childhood certified teacher, is the director of Children’s Programs. She is an avid gardener, naturalist, storyteller, and musician and has led and developed eco-contemplative programs for children for the past eight years. She also holds certification in the North Carolina Environmental Education Certification Program. Ms. Segella, an AMI Lower Elementary certified teacher, is the Educator Council member and a spring 2013 candidate for a PhD in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Her work with Montessori has contributed to her current Jungian-based exploration of children’s spirituality and how a relationship with the natural world contributes to the child’s spiritual development.
