Twelve candidates filed to run for the position of Superintendent of Education in South Carolina in the November 2022 elections. The Board of the South Carolina Montessori Alliance submitted four questions to all twelve candidates. Three responded to our questions. Here is the text of our original email:

The South Carolina Montessori Alliance (SCMA) is a leadership organization, incorporated as a 501-C, whose purpose is to promote Montessori education in our state. South Carolina has well over 8,000 children enrolled in Montessori programs, including public, charter, licensed childcare, and independent tuition-based programs. SCMA board members represent every variety of Montessori program and work collectively to provide professional development and support to all schools and educators. We offer an annual conference that is attended by over 300 teachers and administrators each October. We invite you to visit our website, www.scmontessori.org , or our Facebook page, to learn more about us.

We are contacting you, and each of the candidates for the office of Superintendent of Education to learn more about you and your support of Montessori education. Please respond to the following questions by email. We will share your responses with our board members.
